Jay Johnson's Half Truths Page 4

I feel like the strip was starting to find its stride with these. The first one was based on the infamous "Jon fires somebody for being a walking healthcode violation" incident in which a Subway employee was terminated for having such poor personal hygene, a situation that begs for mockery in a comic no one reads.

This page also features the two "Miniature Tales of Human Misery" strips, which brought some depth to the characters, but was mostly just an excuse to use a lot of black ink.

Also notable, my attempts to draw a female character that was not perfect and skinny, which I wanted to do to simply because it's never done in comics. Or if it is, it becomes the defining aspect of that character. "The Fat Character." I feel that I did this more successfully with Jess later on in Downfall, but the idea first began here.
